One of the erstwhile trends that has resurfaced in the past few seasons is that of color blocking. Essentially, color blocking is using two or more solid colors in the same dress, saree or salwar kameez. So, most women, who have their closets full of different colored clothing, can now put them to good use in a new and different way.
However there are some things that need dwelling upon, before you end up looking like a Christmas tree, complete with the trimmings! Read on to learn more:
- Don’t mix too many shades together. Just using two or three primary colors, or jewel tones work best.
- You can also use three different colors– a dress in one color, accessories like shoes in another, and jewelry or a handbag in the third, to avoid going overboard with color.
- Usually, it’s best to combine unusual colors, which are pleasing to the eye. Some combinations in rage this season are orange and purple, yellow and green, yellow and teal, green and electric blue, or black, pink and red.
With these rules in place, you surely won’t feel iffy with color blocking. So, happy mixing!
